  We ate in the main cafe which is a large food hall. The queues were horrendous. They were so bad, that you doesn't about 10-15 queuing to pay after being given your hot food - until it was cold. But that's fine because you can use one of the many microwaves dotted around to correct this issue! Why didn't they fix the issue rather than provide microwaves, who knows.

  My friend and I came to this place with a motorbike, took us 1 hr 10 mnts drive from Barcelona, what was beautiful road all the way up to the mountain, road was great and very safe for driving.

  Anyhow there there are other ways to get here, either buy bus or train then funicular or cable car, for the price please check their website, I have checked was no more than 15 euros for return trip.

  It's a nice place to see but the train connection and even the parking is way too expensive. Try to go early in the morning so you will be able to make the most out of your visit.

  A must see for all pilgrims! Took a cab up from Barcelona city reached in about 50 minutes costs inclusive of toll 110€. Fast way up beautiful scenery along the way. Thereafter took the train down to Barcelona city. 2hrs for 11€. Worth every cent!

  From the monastery you can continue going up to the highest point with funicular.

  The monastery itself bot that big, as I am more interest on landscape I didnt really go inside the monastery but did go to the cathedral which was free to enter.

  When going into the main monastery, there's always a huge queue on the right hand side, of you only want to go to the cathedral, stick to the left where you can get straight in.

  I live locally and have just visited for the second time. First time we took the cable car and second time we drove up. Both very accessible and reasonably priced. I wasn't visiting for walking so didn't spend long there. But the location and views are just stunning and it is definitely on my visitors' must-do lists.
